Young fox rescued from deep mud at urban building site where it was found fighting for life in a hole
omg. :(
aw omg poor baby :’(
BABYYYYYYY :’(
Shit like this pisses me off. It’s an effing animal and it’s not even DEAD. What about people, CHILDREN dying on a daily basis in countries like Afghanistan/Iraq/Syria/Pakistan/Palestine, where are their posts with 20k+ notes? Wtf is this shit.
Who cares if it’s a person or not? It’s a life, it’s just as important as a child’s.
Because, he was born as a fox makes what he went through any less important then a child’s experiences? It is a life, no matter the species. It feels pain, fear, and loneliness just like any human. This poor fox is so very lucky to be alive and the people who saved it are great heroes.I’m sorry but you’re saying that an animal’s life is as important or even more important than a human being’s? That is absolute bullshit. Things like this make me lose faith in humanity. Before you or someone goes accusing me, I should make it clear that I’m do not even remotely support animal abuse but there is no way that anyone can justify comparing an animal’s life to a child’s.
smh.
*italicising Farista’s reblog from the girl above her because it’s been reblogged all weirdly
Let me ask you this. So what exactly is “absolute bullshit” in thinking of an animal’s life just as important as any human being? What is so unjustifiable about putting animal life on the same level as a human? Don’t we all share this planet together? Aren’t we all living, breathing, feeling organisms? Just because an animal cannot voice its pain and fear with spoken words like a human can doesn’t make those emotions any less real. The fact that this makes you “lose faith in humanity” is what’s saddening. If anything, caring about our animal-counterparts demonstrates more humanity and benevolence— what it means to be human doesn’t necessarily involve just caring about other humans. It means caring about another life. And it takes so much more compassion to be concerned about animals, simply because they aren’t capable of expressing gratitude like humans can.
I do realise the point you were making originally and that this is all gone on a tangent— but the fact is the notes on a Tumblr post are in no way a quantitative measure of how important a situation is. What people like and find interesting/inspiring/appealing is not synonymous with worldly importance.
^^^
I had to reblog this because of what Manda had to say about the whole thing and the fact I’ve seen people say things like that before.
I’ve always said things before about how every life is important, and when I say that — it doesn’t apply just to humans, but even to animals. Exactly for the reasons that I bolded in what she said about it. Every living being on this planet needs to be treated with compassion, and that includes animals.
